The Buckley 5 Miler's course has been described as picturesque, challenging and unique, featuring an "out and back with loop."

Runners start adjacent to the old schoolhouse on scenic Belshaw Road heading east until its end, at which point they make their way back to the pioneer farm - where the course becomes cross country, meandering through the park itself for the final two miles.  The two mile walk takes place only on the cross country part of the course.

Once concluding their panoramic journey which has taken them alongside rows and rows of towering field corn, up and down both hill and dale (yes, there are some hills), over rustic bridges, by log cabins and amongst multitudinous forms of both flora and fauna, the "Ladies of Buckley" await them dressed in pioneer garb, serving a bounteous bevy of refreshments.
