Robert Brannock

Robert Brannock is currently a senior music education major at Ball State University, Muncie, IN. His 13 year percussion background includes performances in both the Midwest and Japan. He has played with the Indiana All-State and All-State Honor Bands, the Indiana Music Educators Association Honor Band, the Purdue University All-Star Band, and the Northwest Indiana youth Symphony. He was one of 60 musicians worldwide chosen to perform with the International Youth Wind Orchestra for the WASBE convention in Hammamatsu, Japan. He has received numbers soloist awards from Purdue University and Indiana State University. He was also the recipient of the John Philip Sousa Award and the U.S. marine Corps' "Sempre Fidelis award. He has performed with such Chicago area jazz artists as Rob Parton and Jeff Armandi, and was a founding member of the "Gypsum Quartet." Robert has been involved in every area of percussion from concert to jazz to marching, including wind ensemble, marimba ensemble, Latin ensemble, jazz band, jazz combo, marching band, winter drum line, drum corps, and was a member of the U.S. All-Star Drumline. He has taught at several Indiana high schools, including Lake Central, Crown Point, Muncie Central, Delta, Portage, and Randolph Southern, many of whom have won several percussion captions and competed at the national level. Some of his teacher have been Frank Niemiec, Paul Rudolph, Jerry Steinhilber, Ed Harrison, Brett Kuhn, Tim Davis, Greg Wolffe, and Erwin Mueller, as well as many international performers during his 5 years at the U.S. Percussion Camp and the bands of America Percussion Symposium. Robert maintains a busy schedule as a student percussion instructor in the Muncie area.
