I promised to put a little info on the Fiesta trip in every newsletter.  this information is what is printed on the internet and subject to change.

DECEMBER 26TH - FRIDAY

Projected Departure:  Chicago, IL
Time:  Based on final seat blocks, early morning flights will be used, to allow for afternoon sectional rehearsal and other evening activities.
Motorcoach Transportation in Phoenix:  For local Phoenix transportation school buses will be used.  For the Grand Canyon trip, VIA Coach Lines will be used.  Projected Hotel:  Radisson Hotel, Southbank
Afternoon:  "Make your own Hoagies" lunch at the hotel (based on flight arrival times).
3:00 to 5:00 Rehearsal
5:30  Return to Hotel, change clothes, tick up bathing suits.
6:30 - 10:00  Kiwanis Wave Pool.  Heated, full size indoor wave pool.  L.C. will have this as a private event this evening.  There will also be basketball, volleyball and a snack bar.
10:00 - 11:30   All you can eat pizza party at Organ Stop Pizza Parlor.  Then back to hotel for sleep.

DECEMBER 27 - SATURDAY

7:00 a.m.  Buffet breakfast at hotel
8:00 - 11:30 a.m.  Rehearsal
11:30 - 12:30 McDonald’s "Roll Up" at the rehearsal site.
12:30 - 2:30  Rehearsal
2:30 - 4:30  Back to hotel to change and freshen up
5:00 - 7:00  Private dinner at Planet Hollywood.  Restaurant will close to public for 1 hour for us.
Time available after dinner to purchase souvenirs.
7:00 - 9:30  Shopping at Metro Center Mall
10:00  Return to hotel

DECEMBER 28 - SUNDAY

8:00  a.m.  Breakfast buffet at hotel
9:30 Depart hotel for Hayride at Ponderosa Stables and cookout at Box Canyon located at the base of South Mountain.  Menu:  Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips & dip, macaroni salad, cowboy beans, potato salad cookies, lemonade, coffee.
1:30 p.m.  Return to rehearsal site for practice
5:30  Depart rehearsal site for hotel
7:00  Hotel dinner "Italian Night".  Menu:  tossed salad, spaghetti w/meatballs, lasagna, vegetable, dessert, milk, soft drinks.
Evening open at the hotel - use of heated hotel pool.

DECEMBER 29 - MONDAY

7:00 a.m. Breakfast at hotel
11:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.  National Championship of Bands (our performance time is based on the draw that morning)  at Sun Devil Stadium at Arizona State University.
6:00 p.m. Depart Pageant site for dinner at Rawhide, located north of Phoenix in the desert.  It is much colder at night in the desert so bring warmer clothes.  Daytime temperatures range from mid 60’s to low 70’s (when the sun is out) to evening  temps which can drop to the mid 40’s to mid 50’s in the desert.  All shops will be open at Rawhide for students to purchase souvenirs.
Once at Rawhide, dinner will be in the Pavilion, after dinner students are free to enjoy Rawhide and participate in the dance for the Fiesta Bowl Bands.  Rawhide is a converted ghost town with shops, a six-gun theater, stagecoach rides and other fun things to do.  Dinner will be:  Steak, cowboy beans, corn on the cob, cole slaw, garlic bread, dessert, soft drinks, ice tea, coffee.
10:30 p.m return to hotel.

DECEMBER 30 - TUESDAY
GRAND CANYON DAY

6:00 a.m.  Buffet breakfast at hotel
7:00 a.m.  Depart hotel for full day trip to Grand Canyon.
11:00 a.m.  Arrive Grand Canyon
12:00 p.m. Lunch included at Squire Inn (Buffet)
(Note: the first stop is about 2 miles past the Canyon entrance gate at Mather Point, then on the South Rim, location of the different South Rim Lodges; Bright Angel, Maswick, etc.   The group will have time for shopping and viewing the South Rim of the Canyon.)
4:00 p.m. Depart Canyon for return to hotel.
8:00 p.m.  Arrive hotel
8:30 p.m. Mexican Fiesta Dinner at hotel
Menu:  Build Your Own Taco Bar:  taco shells, seasoned beef, lettuce , tomatoes, onions, fresh salsa, cheddar cheese, chips & dips, cheese enchiladas, refried beans, Spanish rice, salad with assorted dressings, dessert, coffee, ice tea & soft drinks.

DECEMBER 31 - WEDNESDAY
1997 FIESTA BOWL PARADE
FIESTA BOWL NEW YEAR’S EVE EVENT

7:00 a.m.  Buffet breakfast at hotel
8:30 a.m. Depart hotel for parade staging area, corner of Bethany Home and Central Ave.
9:00 a.m. Arrive at staging area.
Note:  The times may vary due to actual placement of the L.C. Band.  The parade has 4 arrival times based on placement of band.  We will also be participating in the Blue Cross/Blue Shield National Pageant of Bands, all bands participating in this event are placed in the first 2 staging times for TV coverage.  Possible staging arrival 9:00 & 9:30 a.m.
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Fiesta Bowl Parade
Lunch will be served at the band de-staging area by McDonald’s Corp.  All band students, staff & chaperones will receive an deli lunch at the end of the parade route.
2:00 - 6:00  Open time at the hotel
6:30 p.m.  Hometown Buffet
8:00 p.m. Fiesta Bowl New Year’s Eve Party
10:00 p.m.  AWARDS TO BE ANNOUNCED
12:15 a.m  Return to hotel

JANUARY 1 - THURSDAY

Breakfast times this morning at the hotel will be dependent upon flight departure times.
