FROM THE WOR. MASTER
On April 2nd McKinley Lodge raised Br. Patrick Thomas Stevenson to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason. W.B. William McNabney raised Br. Patrick, with W.B. Clarence R. Covault giving the Charge.
Our heartfelt thanks to W.B. Bernard Bradley and Br. Howard Johnson of Indiana Harbor Lodge, who stood in as Chaplain and Senior Deacon respectively for the Degree. Their assistance was an added bonus in the ceremony.
On April 3rd., 1996 W.B. Oscar F. Weil was born again to be with the Supreme Architect of the Universe in a greater life above. W.B. Oscar was Master of McKinley Lodge in 1927 and was to receive his 75 Year Award in March, but was unable due to illness. The Masonic Service was given by W.B. Bernard Bradley of Indiana Harbor Lodge, and we thank him for his moving service.
Our Blood Drive was held on April 15th at St. John Community Center. The outpouring (ha ha) was well. A total of 48 pints of blood was donated. Now that's really giving!! Thanks to all those who gave blood, and likewise helped in other ways, showing the Community that Masons exist.
During the Stated Meeting on April 9th Candidate Mr. Andrew Timothy Nowaczyk Petition to become a Mason was accepted.
The Entered Apprentice Degree was conferred upon Mr. Andrew Timothy Nowaczyk. The Charge was given by Br. Brian Cox and W.M. James Karnafel.
Questions & Answers by Br.'s Tom Lowrance and Patrick Stevenson.
The Second Annual Pancake and Sausage Breakfast was held on April 20th, with many enjoying the handed down (with instructions) batter mix. Little and big children were treated to M&M Mouse Ear pancakes by Br. (Chef) Scott Mitchell, his area renowned specialty. Approximately $215 was donated to McKinley Lodge from this Fraternal Family Event.
On Tues. April 23rd the Second Half of "Masonic Influence on the Early Development of the United States was viewed by nearly 30 of McKinley Lodge. This was truly an Educational Night. The play was Written ,Directed, and Produced by W.B. William McNabney. W.B. Bill gave us all a better insight to the formation of our beloved country. It was very moving to see once again those Brothers who have gone before us! Many observed that it was equally pleasant to re-call each other some twenty years ago. This program is a treasure that should be laid up in the records of the Archives.
At McKinley Lodge On April 30th W.B. William F. McNabney presented the 50 Year Award of Gold to Br. Gene Swain. Another Milestone was observed.
Thanks to Br. Tom Lowrance for his endeavors to provide suitable parking lot lights.

FROM THE TRUSTEES
Brethren:
Two new lights have been installed in the parking lot. Another light was mounted on the north Temple wall. This completes the project of fully lighting the parking lot.
This much needed illumination was made possible by charitable donations from John Eppl, C. Wayne Cox P.M., and the Booster Club of Hammond.
Our banquet room should be the next project. We need to install the 5 new ceiling fan & light kits which were donated by the Willis R. Ford Chapter of DeMolay. Before the heat of summer begins contact Br. Tom Lowrance to Volunteer your talents.
THANK YOU DEMOLAY!!
Spring will soon be upon us and we need to tackle outdoor maintenance projects. The parking lot needs another seal coat, landscaping needs to be updated, and the sign out front needs repainting. Please volunteer your time and talents to help accomplish these tasks.
Masonic Education nights are being planned throughout the year, check the Trestle Board.
Fraternally, Robert Brunner P.M.
