On December 16th, my dear Mom passed away.
I can't begin to imagine how our lives are
going to be affected by it. She was always there
for us. It was doubly hard for me, as there
was no way I could get up to Alaska to attend
the funeral. Some of my sisters represented me,
and it helped, but just to have seen her one
last time would have been the best. I had started
a cookbook a few years ago....mostly of my Mom's
recipes....you know how good cooks Moms are. Now
I'll have to get back to work on it. It will be
dedicated to her, of course. Two of my sisters
have agreed to pitch in and we'll do it as
"Three Sisters".
Our memories are all good ones, and Mom knew
we all loved her very much. We had all spoken to
her just days prior to her passing. God rest her soul.
She loved us all even if we drove her nuts when we
were kids. She managed to raise us all with values
even if we didn't know it at the time. She was well
respected and loved by all who knew her.
She's going to be missed in our lives. I only hope
that my children can say the same about me
when I'm gone.
"God bless you,Mom"
Isaiah 41:10-13
10.Fear thou not;
for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will
strengthen thee;
yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of
my righteousness.
11.Behold, all
they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and
confounded: they
shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.
12.Thou shalt seek
them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with
thee: they that
war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
13.For I the LORD
thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I
will help thee.
This Bible passage
is very special to me because I was so scared when
I started getting
sick and the Doctors couldn't find out what was
really wrong with
me. I had pain and lost weight, and it just kept on
like that until
I ended up in the hospital for 3 weeks. Finally someone
found out what
it was... pseudo-cysts on my pancreas! All this time we were
looking for a disease
or something! It caused no end of problems for
me. I guess scared
isn't the right word.... terrified was more like it.
All of a sudden
this verse popped into my mind. Fear not stuck in my
mind from then
on & I fought to stay alive and praise God. I had
terrific Doctors....
several of them! I had the surgery, and it went
well. But then
when I came home, I developed an infection and came
very near dying......
so it was back to the hospital in an
ambulance, barely
conscious but somewhere through the haze I heard
the words from
the Bible verse. I vaguely remember the ride to the
hospital, and then
I knew nothing for a few days. That was a close
call. I wasn't
afraid anymore. I knew the Prayer Warriors were on my
case, too. My daughter
called me everyday to let me know I was being
prayed for. My
Home Nurse was great and she looked at me like I was
a looney tune because
I was so blasé' about it. She came to know I
was trusting in
God to pull me through. We had many nice talks. I
told her about
this Bible passage. I think she was a little impressed!!
Our Family Doctor
was great and visited me everyday, and WE had
many nice talks
about things, including our belief in God to heal. I was
ready in case God
called me Home. I had no fear, because I knew he
was there with
me. He brought me back and I'm getting my life back
again. Pancreatitis
is not curable,
but only treatable
with enzymes and pain medication.
I watch my diet
and pray some day to be off the pain meds. Since my pancreas is my weak
link,
I have flare-ups
,
and it usually
take a few days to get over them.
I wouldn't wish
this illness on anyone...
not even my worst
enemy.
I found out this
was inherited,
my Mom has the
same thing.
Strangely, so does
my Mother-in-law!
We all try to stay
away from stress and "bad" foods, etc.
I have a whole
new outlook on life.
You better believe
God plays
a BIG role in my
life now.
I was glad to be
out of the hospital at last
.....I had spent
about 2 months in there all together I think. I knew
all the nurses
by name, and the guy who took my blood every day, they
were so good. All
of them are christians and that helped me out a
lot. Just KNOWING
God is in your corner makes a difference. I Praise
Him everyday!!!!!
He won't let you down. "Fear not ,for I am with
you". If I can
think of that when I was so sick and near
death, anyone can.
Thank you, God, for all my blessings!
I'm very new at
this computer business, and I'm enjoying it immensely. My 2
Angels (Vickie
& Lisa
)
are to blame for it! I started out buying the works, and
jumping in with
both feet at the same time in December of 1997! Since
then I've crashed
a number of times and shed a lot of tears over it. My tech
support is the
greatest (thanks guys!) in the world. Icongrp is tops in my book!
It helps to have
a hubby who indulges my whims, also! He's unplugged and
carried computer
to the techs more times than I can count, and gone to pick it
up, replugged everything
and let me have at it again! My favorite way to
communicate is
with ICQ. I use email to stay in
touch with my Grandchildren
who live in various
parts of the country. Most of them know more about this
than I do!
I've been looking
at all the beautiful web pages that are sent to me. I
love looking at
them, and I enjoy making new friends through them! My
daughter (Angel
#1), designs web pages, along with my "Cyber Daughter".(
Angel #2). They
have a site you should really see! It's called "2 Angels
Web Designs". They
are two very talented ladies! When I first started
looking at pages,
I was just in awe of the many beautiful things on
them, not to mention
the information. The Beehive is one of my favorites to
go look at and
get new ideas from. I also have a nephew who is in his
junior year of
Computer Science at The University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
He is a tremendous
help to me. He's 21 and smarter than I could ever
hope to be. He
built his own computer! It's quite impressive!
I am a Ninetendo
diehard! I love to play all the games. Zelda is one of my all time favorites
though. Tetris and Crystal Mines and Ms. Pacman, too!
Here are links
to the Gameboy Site and the Zelda Headquarters Site.
You may contact
me at:
You are listening to "Last Sweethearts Waltz"

Here is where I got my background. She has some really pretty ones.

I want to thank
my daughter, Vickie for her undying patience and help in
this endeavor!
We both have spent a lot of time getting it started, with
Vickie doing the
actual work!
To Mom:
No problem Mom!
I love doing this for you!
I love you, too!
