I was saved when I was six years old, in February, 1980.  It was a Sunday night, at the church , Orchard Drive Baptist, that I attended at the time.  The pastor was Brother Carpenter.  I can't tell you what the sermon was about, but I can tell what I experienced.

I was convicted, by God.  He was calling me.  I had a heavy feeling, a burden, to confess my sins, to admit that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God and that He died and lived again three days later.

I hesitated to walk down the isle that night.  BUT!!!!  After the service I approached my father, and he took me into the pastors office and in that room I was saved  (and the Angels had a party!!!)

When I got home, I can remember telling my younger brother that I would would start calling other Christians brother and sister and asked him not to get confused.  I went around on cloud nine!!!  I was a new creature.

Since that day, so many years ago, I have been up and down with God.  Right now, I can say that I have never been closer to God than I am now.  However, I still a far way to go.  I have to constantly reestablish my relationship with my Heavenly Father by constant prayer and daily reading and STUDYING His word, the Bible.
